REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
- Albanian citizen;
- A minimum of first level university degree (Bachelors Degree) attested by a Diploma from security related field or equivalent and proven police or/and military education or training.
- Excellent spoken and written command of English and Albanian.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Prior experience working for Albanian security organisations or in an international environment is considered be an advantage.
- Working experience in with an EU or donor-funded project, with international organisations and in a legal context is considered an asset.
- In depth understanding of the sensitivity associated with the security elements of a justice reform intervention.
- In depth understanding of the sensitivity associated with the security elements of a vetting related reform would be considered as an advantage.
- Good computer skills in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations as a team member in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Punctuality, ability to perform under stress, and willingness to work flexible working hours.
- Ability to prioritise and manage a high workload.

UNHCR - Public Information (PI)/ Communications Intern - Albania

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Media monitoring: Collect and disseminate news articles published in national, regional, international dailies and periodicals that pertain to refugee related issues and the work of the office.
2. Social media management: With an aim to maintain regular information flow, produce interactive bi-lingual social media posts (info-graphs, animations, and videos) for a wide range of target audience, including general people, policy makers, donors, and people of concerns to UNHCR. Keep abreast of social media activities of relevant entities including the office of UN Resident Coordinator, other UN Agencies, EU Delegation, NGOs, etc and repost in consultation with the External Relations unit.
3. Media relations: With an aim to establish and maintain strong relationship with the national media, compile and maintain the mailing list for timely dissemination of press releases, information bulletins, etc to media and other interested parties.
4. Custody of PI materials: Maintain adequate stock of PI and communications materials and maintain up-to-date the catalogue/inventory of PI and communications material.
5. Event management: Subject to COVID-19 related restrictions, provide assistance to organize PI events such as poster campaigns, exhibitions, and public awareness raising events.
6. External communication: In consultation with the External Relations unit, respond to routine telephone and written enquiries from a variety of sources such as the media, the public, NGOs, etc.
7. Other relevant activities: Maintain PI files up-to-date, explore UNHCR's communication systems, support the office with informal translations of various communications and other documents, as needed, in English and/or Albanian and perform any other related tasks as required.

Language Requirements
Fluency in written and spoken English and in Albanian.

Requirements for the consultant:
• Post-graduate degree in field of Communications, Journalism, PR or Social Sciences, Development Studies, Social Welfare, Social Policy, Social Work or related fields.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in the field of communications or journalism.
• Proven expertise in developing and implementing communication strategies at the institutional/national level, but preferably with a regional or international scope;
• Previous experience working on communications and outreach that relate to sustainable development, specializing on issues related to trafficking, children and their protection, migration and development, human rights and welfare/wellbeing.
• Demonstrated experience developing, editing and overseeing layout of publications and content management for websites and social media; 
 • Proven experience of having undertaken similar assignments will be an added value;
• Ability to produce content for high standard deliverables in both Albanian and English;
• Sensitivity towards ethics with regards to human and child rights issues;
• Very good planning and time management skills
• Ability to work closely with national and international actors with tight deadlines and with minimal supervision;
