Tasks and Responsibilities

The intern will support the adolecents programme by providing inputs and drafting various concept notes or briefs for the various type of activities such as: - contribution to the different phases of research and studies,

- contribution to development of advocacy or communication briefs,

- contribution to develop various web materials for the programme, briefs and important information about international policies and strategies on Adolescent and Youth Engagement and participation

- contribution to data dissemination and communication activities

- contribution to activities that involve capacity building of government and non-government actors and support the program specialist in project monitoring and organization of different program events/activities as required.

Provide administration and operations support to the Albania Country Office (CO) in accordance with UN Women rules and regulations and policies and strategies

  • Participate in review meetings and provide support to the assessment of the managerial and operational capacities of implementing partners in collaboration with the programme and technical team;
  • Provide support in screening the supporting documents submitted by the Responsible Parties;
  • Prepare VAT reimbursement claims with adequate supporting documentation.
  • Provide technical support to the preparation of payment requests;
  • Assist in the pre-audit preparations for the CO to be audit ready and provide support in the completion of the pre-audit checklist;
  • Provide support to travel management and documentation collection, including travel claims, mission reports etc.
  • Provide administrative support for the organization of CO meetings and activities, including conferences, workshops, retreats.
  • Ensure proper filing of all operations processes and documentation, hard copy and soft files in OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • Assist with the organization of the office archive and library.

The interpreters will be expected to:

• Provide high quality online simultaneous interpretation from English to Albanian and vice-versa during the sessions of the three specialized training in Transitional Justice (17 days in total);    • Coordinate with the second interpreter on dividing the interpretation schedule to ensure a continuous high level interpretation throughout the training sessions.

3. Tasks

Under the guidance of the Project Manager, the expert will:

1) Analyse the draft modules pertaining to the legal track of the Master’s Program as provided by the Presence, and namely “Transitional Justice and Public International Law” and “Transitional Justice and Rule of Law”; 2) Participate in a conference call organized by the Presence’s to discuss the structure, content and format of the consultancy service as well as the teaching methodology; 3) Compile a draft programme of a three-day online training of 12 (twelve) hours, tentatively from 9:30 to 13:30, for the academic staff of the Masters’ Programme in Transitional Justice. For each day, the program should be structured in sessions of one hour each.  Each session or group of sessions should address a specific topic.  Each session or group of sessions should address a specific topic. The training must be based on the modules mentioned above on item 1) as well as on the inputs provided in the conference call under item 2). The training should include at least subject matters such as - Introduction to Transitional Justice:  Concepts, Goals, Origin, Mechanisms and Developments; - Rule of Law, Transitional Justice, and the Impact of Transitional Justice on the Rule of Law; - Rule of law and Transitional Justice: UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) - “Internationalized Constitutions”,
